CAUSES HOLDING YOU TO AVOID CELEBRATION

Life can be incredibly challenging, with financial worries and time constraints making it difficult to find room for celebrations. The constant pressure of inflation, mounting responsibilities, and the barrage of negative news on social media can overshadow the joy that comes from marking special moments. If you find yourself postponing celebrations or questioning the value of spending money on them, this video is for you. Here, we'll explore how even in tough times, finding ways to celebrate can bring light and joy into your life, helping to navigate the negativity and stress that surround us.

WHY IS IT IMPORTANT TO CELEBRATE

How should we celebrate life? What is the purpose of celebration? To have joyous moments with loved ones, to make our happiness complete. To be thankful for what we are and what we have. In fact, celebrations make us healthy and happy. Celebrating life milestones is crucial for maintaining physical and mental health, strengthening family and community bonds, and nurturing a healthy self-concept. These events bring joy, connection, and a sense of accomplishment, reminding us of the journey we've traveled and the meaningful relationships we've built. Even in challenging times, adjusting celebrations to fit our mood can enhance our well-being and reinforce the importance of cherishing life's special moments.

JESUS WANTS YOU TO CELEBRATE

John 10 verse 10 quotes what Jesus wants for us.

I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full. (John 10:10)

Jesus doesn’t just want us to make it through the day, month, or year; he wants us to live our lives to the fullest. And when we celebrate, we’re doing just that. We feel joyful because God designed us to take time and live in those moments. So start celebrating the moments.

REJOICE ALWAYS

Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice! Let your gentleness be evident to all. The Lord is near. Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. (Philippians 4: 4-7)

Philippians chapter 4 verses 4 to 7 emphasizes how important it is to appreciate, cherish, and celebrate moments in your life. This is what pleases God. Rejoice with your loved ones and be happy in the Lord. Embrace the peace God is bestowing on you during the celebration without worrying about anything else.

WHEN TO CELEBRATE I THINK

Do you have an idea when and what to celebrate? Well I’ll say, Celebrate your existence. Celebrate your experience. Celebrate your achievements. Celebrate your milestones. Celebrate your health. Celebrate your purpose. Celebrate your festivals. Celebrate your restoration. Celebrate your forgiveness. Celebrate your present. Celebrate every moment. Lets look at another passage.

WHY LEAVE WEALTH FOR OTHERS TO CELEBRATE

And he told them this parable: “The ground of a certain rich man yielded an abundant harvest. He thought to himself, ‘What shall I do? I have no place to store my crops.’

“Then he said, ‘This is what I’ll do. I will tear down my barns and build bigger ones, and there I will store my surplus grain. And I’ll say to myself, “You have plenty of grain laid up for many years. Take life easy; eat, drink and be merry.”’

“But God said to him, ‘You fool! This very night your life will be demanded from you. Then who will get what you have prepared for yourself?’ “This is how it will be with whoever stores up things for themselves but is not rich toward God.” (Luke 12: 16-21)

These verses highlight the hard reality of life. We often spend our entire lives working hard, aiming to enjoy it all in the end, but we forget to treasure every moment along the journey. We make our own plans without considering that it is God's plan for us that ultimately prevails. Why accumulate wealth to enjoy later when you don’t know when your life will be taken? Instead, make your life purposeful by celebrating each achievement and thanking God for every moment and accomplishment along the way. Don’t be like the rich man who had no time left to enjoy his wealth. Enjoy life while you have the time—every moment is precious.

CELEBRATE WHEN FOUND AND REDEEMED WITH COMMUNITY

Suppose one of you has a hundred sheep and loses one of them. Doesn’t he leave the ninety-nine in the open country and go after the lost sheep until he finds it? And when he finds it, he joyfully puts it on his shoulders and goes home. Then he calls his friends and neighbors together and says, ‘Rejoice with me; I have found my lost sheep.’ (Luke 15:4-6)

The above verses highlight the collective happiness and the importance of community in sharing and celebrating moments of redemption and restoration.

The son said to him, Father, I have sinned against heaven and against you. I am no longer worthy to be called your son.

But the father said to his servants, ‘Quick! Bring the best robe and put it on him. Put a ring on his finger and sandals on his feet. Bring the fattened calf and kill it. Let’s have a feast and celebrate. For this son of mine was dead and is alive again; he was lost and is found.’ So they began to celebrate. (Luke 15:21-24)

Luke Chapter 15 verses 21 to 24 highlights one of the most compelling stories of celebration in the Bible - the Parable of the Prodigal Son. It beautifully illustrates the joy that comes with forgiveness and restoration. When the lost son returns, his father doesn't condemn him but instead celebrates his return. This story teaches us that true celebration in life involves embracing forgiveness and offering second chances, just as God does for us. Capture such moments of celebrations for the reunion of family broken relations.

CELEBRATE YOUR EARNINGS

A person can do nothing better than to eat and drink and find satisfaction in their own toil. This too, I see, is from the hand of God, for without him, who can eat or find enjoyment? (Ecclesiastes 2:24-25)

Ecclesiastes 2 verses 24 and 25 clearly defines to enjoy the fruits of your labor. All the hard work that you do, don’t keep gathering but take some amount to merry and rejoice with your family and friends. Gathering for the future is good along with enjoying the present. So, if God is letting you enjoy and cherish the fruits of your hard work why are you then denying?

HOW NOT TO CELEBRATE

But how do we celebrate? Are we celebrating with true essence? Being joyful in the company we are having and serving well or expecting others to do much for us in service. Beware of how expectations can ruin the mood. Get-togethers should be about being thankful for each other and cherishing our time together, not about finding faults or getting upset over small things. Too often, celebrations are spoiled by criticism, grudges, and petty arguments. Don’t let this behavior destroy the joy of the moment.

Now you don’t have to go on celebrations and let your mood decide whether to be happy or sad on the tiny issues. You might have noticed such event spoilers in your parties and sometimes you become one too. Refrain from that as it kills the true essence of celebration which is to enjoy one another. The Bible clearly instructs us in Romans 12 verses 15 and 16.

Rejoice with those who rejoice; mourn with those who mourn. Live in harmony with one another. Do not be proud, but be willing to associate with people of low position. Do not be conceited. (Romans 12:15-16)

Notice how we are told to be part of people’s celebrations and not to be proud, for it is pride and prejudice in us that let us spoil the events of get-togethers.

CONCLUSION: THIS IS THE LIFE TO CELEBRATE

In conclusion, celebrating life is about embracing joy with loved ones, being thankful for every moment, and living in harmony with humility and empathy. Let us cherish each occasion, rejoice with others, and cultivate a spirit of genuine appreciation and togetherness, as guided by the wisdom of Scripture.

Life is a precious gift meant to be cherished, celebrated, and valued. The Bible provides a wealth of verses that encourage us to rejoice, express gratitude, and find joy in our daily journey. Whether praising God for His blessings or celebrating His faithfulness and provision, these scriptures inspire us to embrace life with gratitude, hope, and joy. By meditating on these verses, may we cultivate a perspective that honors life, uplifts our hearts, and glorifies the Creator who bestowed this gift upon us.
