Why Worry?

Why do you worry all the time? This life is little and beautiful. Why are you unable to enjoy it to the fullest? How can you get rid of all worries and anxieties? Why are you stuck in hard times? Even in proper health, you are in anger, regret, and stress.

If this is your scenario you are not alone. I have been struggling with life. But I have come across and found the Super Power who is in control. The good news is He knows every bit of us and He is our Reassurance in such times of trouble. The God Almighty has made this world, this life, and you so beautiful to enjoy.

Everyone goes through periods of sadness and remorse in life. It is part of our life. But it doesn’t have to be part of routine life. Even amid our calamities, we need a strong fort to hold and calm us. Today I will be sharing with you the promises and reassurance, the Bible has promised us. Let us go through His word for our strength and calm in times of worry.

So, where to go when there is a difficult family situation, health problem, or another obstacle that burdens us? Where to find peace in such a situation? The good news is, Jesus is inviting all of us who are weary and tired regardless of what type of weariness it is. It can be tiredness due to daily responsibilities or it can be sadness at the loss of loved ones.

“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.” Matthew 11:28-30

Lighten yourself, and come to Jesus who died and rose again, who is victorious over death, and the devil. Do not be troubled. Carry His yoke which reassures you so that you feel restful.

"Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.” 1 Peter 5:7

This is exactly what you need to do. Cast all your anxiety on Him. Discuss with Him all that concerns you. Now your problems are not yours, those are His. Take a back seat relax and feel that peace within you that no world can provide.

“Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.” John 14:27

What are you worried about? Tomorrow or the past.? Is it clothes? Is it what you will eat? Is it where you will live? Is it about how you manage your living? Well, all your concerns are addressed by Jesus. Listen to what He is saying to you.

“Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothes? 26 Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? 27 Can any one of you by worrying add a single hour to your life[a]?

28 “And why do you worry about clothes? See how the flowers of the field grow. They do not labor or spin. 29 Yet I tell you that not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of these. 30 If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today and tomorrow is thrown into the fire, will he not much more clothe you—you of little faith? 31 So do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ 32 For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them. 33 But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. 34 Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own. Matthew 6:25-34

So, this is why you should not be worried. But what if you are struck by an accident or are passing through a hard time then you will say that is surely the matter to worry about, to fear. Let's see what the Word of God has for you in this situation.

"Even though I walk through the darkest valley, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me.” Psalm 23:4

Yes, even though you pass through such a dark time fear not for it is God who is with you through the whole of this time. He is always there to comfort us during this time.

"When anxiety was great within me, your consolation brought me joy.” Psalm 94:19

Whenever you are feeling anxiety turn to God for healing. Meditate His word, His Greatness, His Supremacy and find joy and peace.

At times of discouragement when other people belittle you when you feel devalued and insulted, when you are lonely and feel unheard, put your trust in God.

"So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.” Isaiah 41:10

"Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.” Joshua 1:9

Is the fear consuming you and stopping you from enjoying life? Is it threatening you so much that you are scared to come to light? Then, find God and He will listen. King David shares this with us. Whenever he was afraid, scared of his enemies, hiding in caves, he put his trust in the Lord.

"I sought the Lord, and he answered me; he delivered me from all my fears.” Psalm 34:4

"When I am afraid, I put my trust in you.” Psalm 56:3

Since you have put all your concerns in His hands and have put your trust in Him, He has some words for you.

"For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Then you will call on me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you.” Jeremiah 29:11-12
