Do you realize how much your surroundings affect your life? When there is chaos and panic around you, it becomes difficult to think clearly. Conversely, being around happy people makes you feel glad. Consider the type of places you like to visit. Have you ever planned to go to areas that lack beauty and cleanliness? Would you want to live in such places and make them your home? The answer is no. Everyone desires to live in beautiful places. What makes these places beautiful? They are organized, well-maintained, routinely cleaned, spacious, and decluttered. The good news is that you can make your home beautiful too.

It's important to understand why you need a beautiful place. In a spacious, clean, and organized environment, your mind fills with happiness, allowing you to be more productive and save time since you won't need to search through clutter. With fewer distractions, you become more focused. Your personality becomes more relaxed, as you enjoy and work better in organized spaces.

So now, more than what to keep, it's more important to know what to remove from your home. Anything that does not serve the purpose of growth and happiness, that brings stagnation, and hinders your thinking should be eliminated. Learn from Jesus, the greatest and most powerful man in history. He eliminated all the items from the temple that were not serving the purpose of honoring GOD.

(John 2:13-16)

When it was almost time for the Jewish Passover, Jesus went up to Jerusalem. In the temple courts, he found people selling cattle, sheep, and doves, and others sitting at tables exchanging money. So he made a whip out of cords, and drove all from the temple courts, both sheep and cattle; he scattered the coins of the money changers and overturned their tables. To those who sold doves he said, “Get these out of here! Stop turning my Father’s house into a market!”

Have you heard of the law of attraction? Simply put, whatever you think happens for you, be it good or bad. If you create positive energy around you with your positive thoughts, positive things happen, and if you create negative words and thoughts, you will suffer negative consequences too, creating more negativity. So, what should you think?

Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things.

In this blog, I will share exactly those 6 things you need to eliminate from your home immediately. Keeping those items makes you feel agitated and cluttered, and you feel stuck in a place where arguments and quarrels happen. Also, it makes you procrastinate and develop a subconscious belief that you are not capable of better management and that you are okay with your life as it is. It drives hopelessness in you and deprives you of energy, so you are not serving your purpose well of enjoying your life to the fullest.

1. Clothes You No Longer Wear

You loved buying a piece of clothing and wore it frequently but suddenly stopped wearing it. You know why? Because it no longer resonates with you today. The clothes you no longer wear create the stress of choosing from the wardrobe as they catch your eye every time, hindering your decision and stagnating your progress. Therefore, you should not keep clothes you no longer wear or clothes that make you sad. Keep only the pieces you love that make you feel comfortable and smile when you see yourself in the mirror. The rest can be donated if they are in good condition or discarded if they are not. Remember, they have served their purpose well; therefore, be thankful for the blessings of having those clothes and donate them to the needy.

2. Broken Objects

The second thing that blocks your energy is a broken object. It could be a kitchen utensil, a decorative item like a vase, a mirror, a painting, a chair, or anything else. Fix the items only if they can be fixed immediately, and if not, then don’t keep them for decades to discard them later—an act driven by your procrastination, which revives in your subconscious the hopelessness. By letting go of broken items, you embrace an environment of wholeness and functionality. You allow positive energy to flow freely, promoting a sense of peace and balance within yourself and your surroundings. The broken item served its purpose; therefore, be thankful to God for being blessed to afford it.

3. Dirty, Tight, or Worn-Out Shoes

The journey of your life is guided by the shoes you wear; therefore, you should always keep them clean and in good condition. Worn-out shoes can represent a lack of stability or hindered progress in your life. Imagine you are set out to climb mountains. What type of shoes would you like to wear? Strong, intact shoes that will provide you stability and assurance to climb up the path. Therefore, if you find your shoes in a state of disrepair, consider replacing them with new ones. By doing so, you symbolically create a fresh start and provide yourself with the support and stability needed to navigate your life's journey more confidently.

4. Objects and Clothes of People Who Are No Longer With You

You need to recognize the importance of honoring the lives and memories of those who have departed by not clinging to physical remnants of the past but by cherishing the memories of your loved ones in your heart and mind. Allow their presence to inspire and guide you, but release the material attachments that hinder your journey. Donating the items of the departed to those in need will serve a better cause and make the lives of others happy, while their memories are enough for you to enlighten your day. Thank God for the moments you have spent with them to cherish and learn from their journey.

5. Clutter

The lighter your environment is, the more energy will circulate. Try to keep your house organized, open the windows to let air and sunlight in, and do not leave anything in the way.

For God is not a God of disorder but of peace—as in all the congregations of the Lord’s people.

This verse reminds us that God values order and peace. Keeping our living spaces free of clutter aligns with maintaining an orderly and peaceful environment, which allows positive energy to flow.

6. Leaky Taps and Overflowing Sinks

Leaky taps and overflowing sinks may seem like minor annoyances, but they symbolize a lack of control and wastefulness. The constant drip of water can disrupt the tranquility of your home and drain your resources, both financially and environmentally. By fixing leaky taps and sinks, you ensure your homes are well-maintained and peaceful. Embrace the responsibility of care, and let positive energy flow freely in your living space. Be grateful for the blessing of having water and ensure it is used wisely.

The state of our home greatly impacts our energy and overall well-being. It is incredible how simple changes in our surroundings can have a profound effect on our lives. By getting rid of things, we create space for positive energy to flow freely, but we should know what to get rid of, as there is time for everything, as is instructed in Ecclesiastes 3:1 and 6:

There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens... a time to keep and a time to throw away.

And now that you know the time to throw away or eliminate things, it is time to take action to get rid of these things. It is rewarding to eliminate clutter and create space for things you truly love and resonate with, creating a harmonious and vibrant living space that nurtures your soul, relaxes your mind, and enhances your productivity.
